3 Ways to Maximize Your Garden

Whether you have a small space or you want to just have an abundant garden here are three lessons I’ve learned on how to maximize your garden.

  1. Plant your seedling closer than the recommended spacing guide on the packet or label. Especially when they are multiple of the same plant. When plants spread naturally they are not concerned with how far they are. They just pop up in all available space and find a way to thrive.

  2. Learn to integrate different species together. For example adding Tomatoes, onion and lettuce together not only helps keep the plants healthier, lowers weeds, and gives you more yield per square footage

  3. Utilize vertical space. Vines can climb upward giving visual interest while opening the space on the ground to add more varieties of plants.

Whether it’s a vegetable garden, cut flower garden or you’re creating your homes landscape the best way to maximize your garden is to get out and play with layering.
